My Need to Read

I love to explore genre fiction, and while I usually go for books with a romantic thread running through it, I just love great character and world building. And since I can hardly stand to let go of my favorite characters, I like series.

Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card This is perhaps my favorite book ever (top two, at least). It spoke to me when I first read it as a youngster, and it speaks to me still. Ender's a total tragic hero in this story. Used and abused by his peers and protectors alike. I've tried many a time not to tear up reading certain parts...and I fail every time! This book is about kids, but is not exactly full of immature content. That said, I've always felt like it's a book that younger folk should read in school or in a book-group setting. At that age range it's easier to identify with the characters, and there's a lot of great content to discuss.
